Extending the season involves using strategies to protect Fall plants as much as possible from frost or harsh storms.  Some vegetables do have to be harvested before the first frost.  Examples of these vegetables would be cucumbers, beans, tomatoes and peppers.

In this article, Black Fox Homestead explains different strategies to protecting semi-hardy veggies and extending the gardening season into the colder weather.  Excellent article!
