DIY Floral Water Body Splash

DIY Floral Body Splash

If you like to wear perfume but feel that the scent is just to heavy in the heat of summer, check out this post by Shannon.  She shares her recipes for floral water body splashes.  Hydrosols or floral waters are like essential oils, but far less concentrated.  In addition to a lot of recipes, Shannon sharse her trusted source for buying hydrosols. She also has a great tip about refrigerating a body splash so it’s even more refreshing when you spray it on.

She first explains the scent profile for the following hydrosols:

  • Blood Orange
  • Bay Laurel
  • Calendula
  • Chamomile (One of my favorites!)
  • Clary Sage
  • Cucumber
  • Douglas Fir
  • Eucalyptus
  • Helichrysum
  • Lavender (Another favorite!)
  • Lemon Balm
  • Lemon Verbena
  • Lime
  • Neroli
  • Peppermint
  • Rose Geranium
  • Rose
  • Rosemary
  • Spearmint
  • Tulsi
  • Ylang Ylang

Shannon then share 10 custom recipes for floral water body washes.  So for example, she provides a recipe for a splash of Rosemary Hydrosol and Spearmint Hydrosol.  Another is a mixture of Cucumber Hydrosol, Lime Hydrosol and Lemon Verbena Hydrsol.

The neat thing is you can make your own floral water body splashes by looking at Shannon’s profiles of the various hydrosols and combining them into your own unique scent.  EXCELLENT POST!!
