Homemade Ginger Lemon Honey Tonic  Recipe for Colds & Flu


This is an easy and tasty cold and flu remedy. It’s also an excellent combination of ingredients to fight colds and the flu. Lemons smell and taste great and are full of vitamin C and antioxidants. Fresh ginger root adds a great taste to the tonic and deals with coughs, congestion, sore throat like a ninja. Finally, raw honey is soothing and fights infection.

Finally, she has precautions for those who are pregnant, nursing, or taking blood thinners. Children under the age of 1 should never be given honey.

    My favorite thing to drink when I have a cold or just in the winter is ginger tea with a bit of honey. It opens up my sinuses, soothes my throat, and just feels good going down. I crave the stuff, can’t get enough of it. I’ll have to try this. I usually make a lemon and honey with some coconut oil for the boys when they are sick, but this might be good. Add some ginger 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
