This is a recipe for Herbal Jello by Jan of the Nerdy Farm Wife. Herbal Jello is an ideal way to administer herbs to children. It’s made with herbal tea which can be made with store-bought herbal tea, purchased as dry herbs, or picked fresh from your garden.
For example if you want to treat a stomach ache with elderberry and your child likes strawberry Jello then you can make elderberry tea and combine it with some strawberry Jello using Jan’s recipe.
For those who object to the sugar in Jello, the logic is if it’s easier to get your child to take medicinal herbs that will help them by mixing the herbs with Jello, then the good outweighs the bad. Jan also offers Jel Dessert as an alternative to Jello. It’s vegan, kosher and doesn’t have artificial colors or flavors.
Jan also includes a list of 10 medicinal herbs with an explanation of the illnesses they can treat.
