Many gardeners have turned away (for good reason) from using commercial fertilizers because of all the chemicals and health concerns. Cindy of Homegrown Fun has assembled a list of 10 different natural fertilizer recipes. She explains why each natural fertilizer works and also how to use the fertilizer.
I’ll share one example. Cornmeal contains a lot of nitrogen and phosphorus. It turns out it’s an effective, natural fungicide. Add a cup of cornmeal to 5 gallons of water. Let it soak for 3 or 4 hours. Strain the liquid and put it in a spray bottle. Spray any plant leaves that are prone to fungus.
I haven’t seen the cornmeal fertilizer before. There are 9 other natural fertilizer recipes and I had only heard of one of them! Click the link below to read about all 10 natural fertilizer recipes.
