This is another great recipe by Jan of the Nerdy Farm Wife.  She shares an interesting point about witch hazel. If you buy witch hazel at your local store, it was probably distilled once and contains a lot of alcohol.

Mountain Rose Herbs carries a witch hazel that is double distilled.  It contains 86% witch hazel and only 14% alcohol. This makes it more soothing.  If you are buying locally, look for  double distilled witch hazel.  It is much better.
