An herbal tincture is an herbal extract made by soaking herbs in a liquid like pure grain alcohol or glycerine, which extracts the key ingredients of the herbs into the liquid. The herbs are strained out and the remaining concentrated liquid is the tincture.
In this article, Jan explains how to make a ginger tincture, which can be used to treat stomach flu, nausea, motion sickness and other illnesses. Because it’s so concentrated you only need to put a few drops in ginger ale or water and drink it down.
Jan provides directions on using either dried ginger or fresh ginger root. She also includes dosing recommendations.
