Thank you for visiting Herbs and Oils Hub!!
I found this recipe by Sue of The View from Great Island website. It’s a creative recipe, perfect for any time of the year, and very pretty. It looks like Martha Stewart had an earlier, similar recipe, but her focus was more on layers of alcoholic drinks.
In this recipe Sue recommends using juices like pomegranate, pineapple , lime (and others).
The process is simple. You select 3 juices with colors that complement or contrast with each other.Sue explains how to get a neat, layered ice cube. She also shares some additional ice cube combinations at the end of the article.
I also think you could also experiment with adding different, natural ingredients to 1 or more ice cube layers:
- Fresh herb sprigs
- Small slices of organic citrus fruits
- Edible flowers — pansies, roses, begonias, nasturtiums, violets
Sue suggests using deeper, silicon ice cube trays which you can get HERE_This type of tray makes it easier to stack the layers. It’s also easier to get the ice cubes out of the tray.
