Thank you for visiting Herbs and Oils Hub!!
Salt and sugar are used quite a bit in homemade products for exfoliation. However, David of CandleAndSoap tries something more creative. He uses poppy seeds for exfoliation in this soap recipe. They are “scrubby” but not “scratchy.” 🙂
David uses a mixture of essential oils that are “bright and citrusy, and a little bit woodsy, floral and green.” He uses:
- cedarwood -soft, woody and “pencil-like” smell and has a faint undertone of sandalwood
- bergamot – basically citrus, yet fruity and sweet, with a warm spicy floral quality
- niaoui – slightly sweet, fresh smell and its color varies from colorless to pale yellow and greenish
This is a layered soap and David walks you through the steps with pictures and clear directions. This is one of those recipes that would be wonderful for at-home use. But bars of Lemon Poppyseed soap would also make a fantastic present for someone special.
