Andrea calls this the Peaceful Warrior’s Salve. It’s a blend of strong, anti-inflammatory herbs and pain-relieving essential oils. I think the key to the pain-relieving properties of this salve is that it reduces the inflammation that often causes pain and swelling.
One thing I like about this salve is that you can rub it into your muscles both before and after working out, or engaging in other physical activity. That increases the chances that the salve will effectively relieve any muscle pain you may get.
Andrea discusses the benefits of the herbs and essential oils that she uses. She then details all of the herbs that she uses to infuse a blend of organic coconut oil and organic olive oil. She also explains which herbs are the secret to the salve. If you don’t have all of the herbs, you can just use the key herbs that she mentions. Finally, she provides clear directions on preparing the beeswax and mixing it with the herb-infused oil and essential oils.
One note: Andrea uses a LOT of herbs and essential oils for this salve. She mentions several times that you can use a smaller number of the herbs and oils that she includes in the recipe. She also provides links to sources for all of the ingredients.
