There are many different causes for headaches. Primary headaches are headaches not related to another illness or disease. They are caused by problems with or overactivity in the pain-structures in the head. Other factors can be chemical activity in the brain, blood vessels, nerves that result in pin. Some people may be genetically disposed to headaches.
In my life I’ve found that headache triggers include stress, too much caffeine (coffee, chocolate), too much spicy food and a lack of sleep. The good news (for me) is that I can drink coffee, eat chocolate and enjoy spicy foods in moderation. But if I overdo eating anything with caffeine in it I pay the price the next day. So I try to practice moderation.
If you do get headaches that make you ill or interrupt with your life, it’s smart to go to your doctor for a check-up to eliminate more serious causes.
What I wanted to do in this post is share again some of the remedies that can be helpful in dealing with headaches. I inlcuded the post on magnesium because some headaches are caused by a magnesium deficiency. I also include at the very end a link to the Mayo Clinic’s discussion of headaches. I found it useful.
For those of you who suffer from headaches, from the bottom of my heart, I hope that you find a natural remedy in the list below that helps you.
